Connecting with God through worship
We are committed to the vibrant worship of God as the center of our congregational life and the main avenue through which we connect with God and other Christians. We invite you to worship with us every Sunday at 11:00 a.m. for services of worship that include celebration, a variety of music styles, and use of multi-media. All of our services are designed in ways that reach into our Methodist past and find meaningful expression in the present.
Our music ministry offers choral and instrumental groups for adults who desire to participate in the leadership of Sunday worship and seasonal services at Christmas and Easter.
Attracting people from the congregation and the community, Alexandria First's music ministry offers an exceptional musical experience to participants by encouraging excellence, teamwork, commitment, and spiritual growth. No auditions are required; the only requirement is a desire to serve the Lord faithfully and joyfully.
The Chancel Choir rehearses at 6:00 p.m. each Thursday, during the months of September through May. Anyone is welcome to join or sit in on any choir practice.

The BrassWinds Ensemble rehearses at 6:00 p.m. each Wednesday and plays for worship once a month.
Connecting with the church trough membership
After you have become part of our congregation's life, we want you to know us and discover even more about Alexandria First. So a "Coffee with the Pastor" is conducted periodically throughout the year to help you learn about our United Methodist heritage and how we function as a congregation. We also share our spiritual journey together and answer any questions you might have about becoming a member of our church. We request that you attend this gathering in order to determine if this church is where God wants you to be a member.
Connecting with one another through fellowship
Alexandria First is a church made up of people from all walks of life. We come from a wide variety of backgrounds, but we have found oneness in Christ and we place a high value on connecting with one another.
- After Worship Fellowship Meal: The entire congregation usually meets once a month after worship in the fellowship hall to share a light lunch and good company. All are welcome to stay after church to chat and have a good time.
- Just for Kids: Occasional special outings are prepared just for kids. They might go bowling, go to a movie or go to a ball game together.
- United Methodist Men's Breakfast: The men meet on the first Sunday of every month for breakfast at 8:00 a.m. "Rotating chefs" take turns preparing a special breakfast for the men of the congregation and usually have a special speaker. The men all enjoy working together on special projects throughout the year, such as hosting a caramel corn booth at Alexandria's "Smalltown USA Festival" to sell their special kettle corn.
- United Methodist Women: An organized group of women meet to help with community projects, set up a cookie booth at the "Smalltown USA Festival", prepare funeral dinners, prepare a mother/daughter banquet and meet for an annual fun Christmas party. All women of the church are invited to participate.
